A recent assessment conducted by researchers at the Policy Studies Institute (PSI) has found that Ethiopian cities have made initial progress toward smart-city development through digital government services, smart mobility, green infrastructure and environmental digitalization, but significant gaps remain in public understanding, strategic planning, institutional capacity, coordination, financing and technological infrastructure.
